TransPod Signs LOI with Business on Camera to Tell Compelling Indigenous Alberta Infrastructure Story in WeMaple Documentary Series

CALGARY, Alberta, and TORONTO, Ontario – Oct. 17, 2023 – Business on Camera (BOC),  leader in producing independent documentary films, has signed a Letter of Intent with TransPod for a 22-minute documentary in Season 3.

WeMaple started as a grassroots effort, using creative visual narratives, to celebrate achievements of Canadians for Canada’s 150th anniversary in 2017. Since then, the WeMaple series has expanded to focus on stories of innovation, excellence, and perseverance across the nation. WeMaple Season 3 will illuminate the true potential of inclusion, and the power that comes from collaborative intelligence and technology.

The TransPod project is a technical marvel, and the collaboration with Clean Communities Corporation (CCC) is a story WeMaple believes is valuable to the public. TransPod’s partnership with CCC will train and employ an Indigenous workforce with a project that will have a profound impact on Alberta’s economic landscape.

“Our goal with this documentary involving TransPod is to bring Indigenous stories front and center, and we’ll do this by showcasing their skills and expertise in the construction of this next-generation transportation marvel,” states Sebastien Gendron, co-founder and CEO of TransPod.

“We don’t intend to share this side of the story simply because these people are Indigenous, but because they are doing incredible things. They just happen to be Indigenous – and we believe that is the best type of inclusion,” adds Jody Linklater, CEO of Clean Communities Corporation.

”From here, we will sign a Brand Partnership Agreement to begin the Development and Pre-Production Process of these independent documentary films. We will adhere strictly to the integrity of the programming and in alignment with the genre rulings in the Canadian Audio-Visual Certification Office (CAVCO) definitions,” adds Matt Keay, CEO of Business on Camera and Founder of WeMaple.
